- Of all the sins mentioned in God's Word, unbelief stands out above all others. The reason unbelief is such a sin is because it declares that God is a liar. (The word is the only means of absolute truth; therefore anything in opposition to God's word is a lie.)
- Our response to the word, (belief or unbelief) will determine our actions.
- Unbelief- Eve sinned because she did not believe God's Work but believed the devil's lie. (Genesis 3:2-6)
- Belief- Noah, moved upon by God, prepared an ark that saved his household. (Hebrews 11:7)
- God will personally deal with all unbelief. (II. Thessalonians 2:9-12)
- God will not change his Word even if some don't believe. (Romans 3:3-4)
- All a person needs to do to be lost is to refuse to believe that God meant what He said in His Word. One does not have to be a murderer or a gangster to go into the lake of fire, but simply an unbeliever. (Revelation 21:8)
- Your time spent in church does not necessarily guarantee your salvation. If God broke og the natural branches (the Israelites) because of their unbelief, we (gentiles) which have been grafted in will suffer the same fate if we disbelieve. (Romans 11:19-21)
- We must not dilute or change any portions of God's Word. We are required to be subject to the whole law. (Ezekiel 2:7-10; Jeremiah 15:16)
