Examination of Our Lives

Focus: UIf we are to be spiritually successful, we must examine the physical, mental, and the spiritual areas of our life. Attention must be given to how we are doin in these areas. The wise Christian will keep a constant watch on these areas.

II Corinthians 13:5a, I Corinthians 11:28 The word of God commands us to examine ourselves. As we examine ourselves we must remember that the word of Godis our measuring stick.

Lamentations 3:40 We are encouraged to compare our ways to the way of Christ. The comparison should compel us to choose His will. (Don't be fooled by a temporary deliverance.)
As we examine oursleves we will find out:
1. You can't get clean our of a things that is unclean (Job 14:4)
2. We don't have the ability to justify ourselves (Job 9:20)
3. Our heart will condemn our selves. (I John 3:20)

Let's examine these areas together:
1. Church attendance. How often do I come?
2. Prayer time. How much do I pray?
3. Giving. Am I consistent?
4. Fasting. How often and when do I fast?
5. Obedience to the word. Do I look for a reason not to?
6. Honesty. Do I always tell the truth? (not little white lies)
